What makes it special?
Aluwood panels are designed to elevate the exterior of your home with a minimalist and timeless Scandinavian design. The panels are made from thermally treated spruce wood and powder-coated aluminum, providing a stylish and durable solution for exterior wall cladding. With a lifespan of at least 40 years for the aluminum and 20-25 years for the wood, these panels offer both durability and a sleek, modern finish.
The design enhances both the functionality and beauty of your home, ensuring it withstands harsh weather conditions for many years.

What materials is it made from?
- Wood slats: Thermally treated spruce (natural or painted).
- Aluminum: Powder-coated in black for a durable, long-lasting finish.
- Screws: Self-tapping, made of hardened steel (screws must be purchased separately).
How do I maintain the Aluwood panels?
Aluwood panels require minimal maintenance due to their thermal treatment. If you'd like to maintain the wood's color, apply water-based oil once a year. However, if you prefer, you can use UV-resistant oil or paint to protect the wood and reduce fading. Once you begin oiling, it’s best to keep up the yearly application to preserve the wood's natural look.
Avoid applying oil to the aluminum. If any oil does get on the aluminum, simply wipe it away with a dry cloth.
Lifespan of Aluwood Panels
Aluwood panels are built to last. Here’s a breakdown of their expected lifespan:
- Aluminum: The aluminum used in Aluwood panels has a minimum lifespan of 40 years, thanks to its powder-coated finish that offers strong resistance to corrosion and harsh weather conditions. The aluminum has a corrosion resistance class of 3, ensuring long-lasting durability even in challenging outdoor conditions.
- Wood slats: The thermally treated spruce wood slats have a lifespan of 20-25 years, benefiting from the thermal treatment which makes the wood more durable and resistant to moisture.
Both materials work together to provide a durable, long-lasting solution for your exterior cladding needs.
Can I install the Aluwood panels directly on a brick wall?
Technically, yes, but it is highly recommended to install Aluwood panels on wooden battens for optimal airflow and durability. We suggest a maximum spacing of 80 cm between each batten and a minimum thickness of 35 mm for the best performance.
Can I replace the wood slats on the Aluwood panels?
No, the wood slats are securely mounted on the aluminum using both glue and screws, so they cannot be replaced separately.
