To achieve optimal acoustics in a room, a general guideline is to cover about 25% of the room's floor area with sound-absorbing materials, like our panels. This proportion helps to significantly reduce echo and enhance sound quality within the space.
Here is a quick example:
Imagine your room's floor is 30 m² . Multiply this area by 0.25 to target the optimal 25% coverage, then divide by 1.44m² = the area covered by one Akupanel | 240. This calculation gives you about 5.2 (given we offer panels only in full units, we'll adjust the total to 6 panels )
You can also use the panel calculator under each product if you already know the height and width of the area you want to cover. Just enter the measurements, and the calculator will tell you how many panels you need.
Panel sizes for reference:
- Akupanel | 300 – 300 × 60 cm = 1.8 m²
- Akupanel | 240 – 240 × 60 cm = 1.44 m²
- Akupanel | 60 – 60 × 60 cm = 0.36 m²
We always recommend adding 5–10% extra to account for cutting and adjustments.
